A Night of Gold — Evergreen Group Celebrates 33 Years

On 31 May 2026, Evergreen Group marked a special milestone — our 33rd anniversary — at “A Night of Gold,” an evening of celebration at Sunway Resort Hotel that brought together our team, business partners, friends and honoured guests from business, government and the community.

The night opened with the energy of a lion dance, before an evening filled with gratitude, reflection and pride. In his address, our founder, Dato’ Low Kok Chuan, looked back on a 33-year journey that began in textiles and grew into a diversified group spanning trade and import-export, finance, insurance claims assessment and property. The world may be changing fast, he said, but a company that holds firm to hard work, integrity and teamwork will keep moving steadily forward — and Evergreen’s future is about more than profit: creating opportunities, supporting society and building careers for the next generation.

The evening also had its heartfelt moments. Dato’ Low paid a warm tribute to his wife of 33 years — his partner through every step of the journey, in good times and challenging ones alike — which drew heartfelt applause from the room.

We were privileged to hear from a distinguished line-up of speakers:

Dato’ Low Kok Chuan, Founder of Evergreen Group — who reflected that, to him, Evergreen has grown into more of a family than a workplace.
Tan Sri Lim Hock San, President of the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Malaysia — who praised Evergreen’s success as built not only on solid business foundations, but on a strong culture and family spirit.
YB Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Housing and Local Government (address delivered on his behalf) — who underlined the importance of close public–private cooperation in driving inclusive, sustainable growth.
YB Datuk Seri Noraini, Minister of Plantation and Commodities — who drew a fitting parallel between the nation’s “green gold” and Evergreen Capital’s gold trade, both built on trust, transparency and quality.

One of the proudest moments of the night was the presentation of mock cheques totalling RM350,000 to eight beneficiary organisations — because giving back to the community has always been part of who we are.
